02

What Basel does

Basel analyzes business card transactions to estimate rewards leakage, compare card routing options, and generate an action checklist. The Service is read-only: it does not initiate payments, transfer funds, open credit accounts, or submit card applications for you.

Rewards programs, card terms, fees, caps, approval criteria, and issuer policies can change. You are responsible for confirming current terms with the relevant issuer before taking action.

  • Use Basel only for accounts and transaction data you are authorized to analyze.
  • Keep your device, browser session, and sign-in method secure.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account or data has been accessed without authorization.
04

Your data and consent

You retain ownership of the transaction data, business names, account labels, and other information you provide. You grant Basel Systems, Inc. permission to process that data solely to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

In this build, uploaded CSVs are parsed in your browser and analysis data is stored in your browser local storage. If you clear your browser data or use the deletion control in your profile, that local data may be permanently removed.

05

Plaid, QuickBooks, and connected accounts

If you connect a financial or accounting account, you authorize Basel and the relevant provider, such as Plaid or Intuit, to access and process the selected account information on a read-only basis to provide the Service. Your bank or QuickBooks credentials are handled by that provider and are not provided to Basel. You may revoke a connection through your bank, Plaid Portal, or QuickBooks settings, depending on the connection.
